About Melissa Yasinow

Passion. Drive. Leadership.
I’m a Cleveland native with five generations of history in Cleveland Heights. I have lived in Cleveland Heights for five years. I moved back to Ohio to attend the Case Western Reserve University School of Law–where I graduated magna cum laude and Order of the Coif–and I chose to live in Cleveland Heights because of its strong local businesses and independent restaurants, vibrant arts community, and walkability.
My volunteerism efforts include:
  • Cleveland Metropolitan Bar Association Law School Debt Task Force Committee – Working on addressing the rising cost of legal education.
  • CMBA 3Rs Program – Teaching constitutional law to sophomores in Cleveland Schools to prepare them for the Ohio Graduation Test.
  • Anti-Defamation League – Board Member and Civil Rights Committee Member.
  • Cuyahoga Democratic Women’s Caucus – Steering Committee Member.
